James Eyre-Walker, Consultant
Since relinquishing ownership of the practice, James has been retained as a consultant to it and sits on it’s Executive Board. After 40 years in the profession, he continues to be actively involved on a part-time basis in the affairs of many clients, supporting the transfer of their affairs to other directors.
He works from home, but flexes his time to meet client demands/expectations. He is directly involved in share/business valuation, corporate reconstruction and strategic business consultancy. In a personal capacity he continues to act in non-executive director roles and as an expert witness in corporate litigation and matrimonial cases involving matters of financial reporting, audit and business/share valuation.
After graduating from the University of St. Andrews with a BSc in Zoology & Psychology in 1982, James trained with Coopers & Lybrand in Birmingham, qualifying in 1985. He joined the firms in 1986 and became a partner in 1989. James also has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) which he gained in 2004 with the Open University. He is also an Associate Member of the Academy of Experts and a Member of the Society of Share & Business Valuers.
James has been President of the Staffs, Salop & Wolverhampton Society of Chartered Accounts three times (2000/01, 2014/15 and 2015/16) and sits on the ICAEW National Technical Advisory Committee. He has also been a governor of two schools and of Stoke College.
Away from the office, James enjoys travelling, gardening, cooking, fly-fishing, shooting and working his home-trained cocker spaniels. He is married to Liz and has one adult son.

Client Feedback

TopCashback
We have used Citrus Group since the early days of establishing our business (6 years) for Audit, Payroll Processing, Taxation and Business Advice and have always found their advice to be responsive and commercial. As well as being professional, the team at Citrus Group are very down to earth, friendly and approachable so you never shy away from picking up the phone to ask for some quick advice - but this doesn’t detract from their ability to grasp complex matters quickly, even under pressurised situations and to deliver sensible pragmatic advice.
Edmonds Accounting Services Ltd
Thank you for the assistance provided particularly in relation to the transition from UK GAAP to FRS102 and for enabling us to submit the accounts within the prescribed time frame. As discussed during our work, the rationale behind much of the transition adjustments was unclear and your assistance, which we are aware was often provided outside normal office hours, proved invaluable and was very much appreciated.
Cross Rhythm
Citrus Group have audited Cross Rhythms charitable accounts for the last 6 years. Their work is of a high standard. They are both professional and friendly in their approach. I’ve also found their fees to be very reasonable.
Hylands Ltd
Citrus Group have looked after all our accountancy needs in a very professional and dependable manner for the last 25 years. They are also a source of sound business advice and provide full payroll facilities which we have been pleased to use for many years. In conclusion we have no hesitation in recommending Citrus Group to any potential client.
